Rain over here in Los Angeles simply won’t let up, will it? Ok so you’re one of those people, the ones that enjoy the rain? To each his own, but let me tell you this, driving in Los Angeles in a rainstorm is just about as enjoyable as… well, it’s not at all.

As if there isn’t enough traffic in Los Angeles, add unexpected rainfall to the mix and you’ve got everyone honkin’. I have to admit though, there is something great about the rain.
Things I love about the rain:
- Lighting the fireplace
- Having smog-less skies
- Gettin cozy with a soft blanket on the couch
- The smell of saturated pavement
- The sound of rain is kind of soothing
So while the rain puts a “damp”er on outdoor activities it’s nice to have a little change- so long as it doesn’t last much longer!

I hate the rain. I only like driving in the rain but here in LA rain just adds to the traffic!
Your article made me think. We are lucky to get the rain, as inconvenient as it is, especially for insurance companies processing claims for drivers who don’t know how to navigate slick roads. The rain should slow us all down a bit.
I am pretty much on board with your thoughts.
I LOVE the smell of saturated pavement and the pitter/patter sound of rain is surely soothing. Rain quenches our earth’s thirst and is much needed to ensure the foliage continues its quest to live out the circle of life; in turn helping us oxygen breathing species to continue our quest’s as well. In Okinawa though, it never “just” rains, it pours. The rainy season over here, much like in Seattle or England, has it raining continuously for hours, days and months. The difference though is that it comes down in sheets and drops the size of large gumballs. This can be very frustrating, especially while driving. I have certainly gotten used to the rain and for reasons mentioned above, have an appreciation for it, I would rather much have a cool, breezy, partly cloudy mid-70′s spring afternoon.
Hey Jason! Thanks for following my blog! Hope the rain isn’t too much of a damper out there!
