Which Foods to Avoid On The Candida Diet

Foods To Eat: (Bolded foods are superfoods)

NON-STARCHY VEGETABLES - Artichokes, Asparagus, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery, Cucumber, Eggplant, Garlic (raw), Kale (if body can digest easily)

Onions, Rutabaga, Spinach, Tomatoes (if body can digest well), Zucchini

LOW SUGAR FRUITS - Avocado, Lemon, Lime, Olives

NON-GLUTENOUS GRAINS - Buckwheat, Millet, Oat bran, Quinoa, Teff

HEALTHY PROTEINS - Anchovies, Chicken, Eggs, Herring, Salmon (wild, NOT atlantic salmon or farm raised), Sardines, Turkey

SOME DAIRY PRODUCTS - Butter, Ghee, Kefir, Yogurt (without added sugar!)

LOW-MOLD NUTS & SEEDS - Almonds, Coconut, Flaxseed, Hazelnuts, Sunflower seeds

HERBS, SPICES, & CONDIMENTS - Apple cider vinegar (after week 3 or 4), Basil, Black pepper, Cinnamon, Cloves, Coconut aminos (as sub for soy), Dill, Garlic, Ginger, Oregano, Paprika, Rosemary, Salt, Thyme, Turmeric

HEALTHY FATS & OILS -
Coconut oil (virgin), Flax oil, Olive oil, Sesame oil

DRINKS -
Chicory coffee, Filtered water, Herbal teas

SUPERFOODS: Garlic and Asparagus, because it actually HELPS kill the candida. Asparagus has great prebiotic fiber to support good bacteria proliferation as well.

Foods To Avoid:

VEGGIES: Root vegetables (potato, sweet potato, carrots, etc) or starchy veggies

SUGARS & SUGAR SUBSTITUTES - Agave, Aspartame, Cane sugar, Corn syrup, Honey (only very very minimal as needed), Maple syrup, Molasses, Sugar

GLUTENOUS GRAINS - Barley, Rye, Spelt, Wheat (includes white bread for now)

HIGH-SUGAR FRUITS - fruit is is higher on the glycemic index, but is widely debated. I’d suggest sticking to berries and kiwi (they promote regular bowel movements!). Avoid Bananas, Dates, Fruit juices, Grapes, Mango, Raisins

PROCESSED MEATS & TOXIC FISH - Processed meats, Shellfish, Swordfish, Tuna

SOME DAIRY PRODUCTS - Cheese, Milk, Cream

MOLDY NUTS & SEEDS - Nut butters from moldy nuts (Like peanuts and cashews)

CONDIMENTS - Barbecue sauce, Horseradish, Ketchup, Mayonnaise, Soy sauce, White vinegar

REFINED/PROCESSED FATS & OILS - Canola oil, Fake ‘butter’ spreads, Margarine, Soybean oil, Sunflower oil

ALCOHOLIC OR SUGARY DRINKS - Beer, Cider, Liquors, Spirits, Wine, Diet & regular soda, Fruit juices, Energy drinks

CAFFEINATED DRINKS (OPTIONAL) - Black tea (Green tea is OK), black tea is ok to start weaning off of coffee but eliminate when you can, Coffee
